New And Emerging Areas Of Specialization For MHRRC
MHRRC
has in the past one to two years begun developing specialization in new areas where its constituents and other stakeholders have demanded service. Here, we shall point only two areas:

1.1 Specialization in the Human Rights Based Approach (RBA) to designing and implementing Human Rights projects: In this regard, MHRRC has so far trained the following international and local organizations in RBA: Malawi CARER and WLSA Malawi, Every Child, DFID Transform Programme staff, Oxfam, Care International, Concern Universal, Plan International, Norwegian Church Aid, and Tikondane Orphan Care.

1.2    Specialization in Evaluations:

valuation of Oxfam’s SHSLP- having trained Oxfam and its partner NGOs (WLSA Malawi and Malawi Carer) in the Human Rights Based Approach to implementing the Shire Highlands Sustainable Livelihoods Programme (SHSLP) in Mulanje and Thyolo Districts, MHRRC was in 2003  invited to carry out an evaluation of the One-year Pilot Phase of the Programme- “integration of rights in the SHSLP”.

Evaluation of the Public Affairs Committee (PAC) programme

MHRRC has carried out an evaluation of PACs programme. This evaluation was designed and carried out with a purpose of feeding into the process of developing a Strategic Plan which PAC and its stakeholders will be engaged in shortly.
