Introduction
The work of Malawi Human Rights Resource Centre (MHRRC)
helps strengthen human rights and the rule of law through
building knowledge and awareness in Malawi. This is realized
through training, research, education campaigns and
provision of documentation services. Supporting and funding
such work helps the development of a vibrant civil society
which advocates and promotes a democratic society based on
the respect of human rights and rule of law.
OGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT OF MHRRC
The policy direction and overall guidance of the Centre is
by a Board of Trustees comprising of representatives from
all sectors of Malawian society (e.g. civil society
organizations, state institutions, academia, and private
sector) which meets once every quarter. The day-to-day
management of MHRRC is vested in the Director
assisted by secretariat staff. Under the Director’s
leadership, the organization is divided into two operational
and one support departments. The three departments are:
Capacity Development Department, Programmes Department, and
the Finance and Administration Department. These three
departments are serviced by experienced professionals in the
field of human rights, gender, law, project
management and accounting. |
